Arkansas man killed after pickup travels off icy road, overturns, authorities say

An Arkansas man was killed Monday night after the pickup he was traveling in left an icy road and overturned in Missouri, authorities say.

The wreck happened around 7:40 p.m. on U.S. 63, about 5 miles west of West Plains, Mo., according to a preliminary crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Danny C. McEntire, 34, of Hardy was pronounced dead at the scene, the agency said.

Authorities say the single-vehicle crash happened in Howell County, Mo., as Dan C. McEntire, 58, of Hardy was driving a 2003 Ford F-250.

The driver at one point lost control of the pickup on an ice-covered U.S. 63, causing it to travel off the road’s right side, overturn and strike a tree, the report states.

Dan McEntire suffered minor injuries in the accident, the highway patrol noted. He was transported by ambulance to Ozark Medical Center in West Plains.
