A northeast Arkansas man has been charged with two counts of capital murder in the deaths of his wife and unborn child, according to authorities.
Rickey Don Crawford Jr., 40, was arrested in November after his pregnant wife, Amanda Crawford, 33, was found dead in their Jackson County home, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette previously reported.
"This is the first homicide involving a pregnant victim I have seen," Henry Boyce, prosecuting attorney for the state's Third Judicial District, said in a news release. "The facts of this case are definitely heinous."
Crawford is scheduled to appear in Jackson County Circuit Court on Friday at 9 a.m., according to the release.
