Interstate 49 lane closings set through end of month in Springdale, Lowell

LOWELL -- Crews constructing the U.S. 412 Northern Bypass will require lane closings on Interstate 49.

Weather permitting, lanes on I-49 will be closed between Wagon Wheel Road and Exit 76, in Springdale and Arkansas 264 and Exit 78, in Lowell through Saturday, Jan. 27, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., according to Arkansas Department of Transportation officials.

The outside lanes of northbound and southbound I-49 will alternately be closed to allow the contractor to install overhead signs.

The contractor is constructing about 4 miles of the four-lane U.S. 412 Northern Bypass, which extends from I-49 to Arkansas 112. The project is expected to be completed mid-2018.
