An Arkansan won $150,000 in a recent Powerball drawing, Arkansas Scholarship Lottery officials said.

Jeffery Stites of Newport purchased the ticket at Nick's One Stop in Newport, the lottery said. The store will receive a 1 percent commission, or $1,500, for selling the winner.

He told officials that he is going to use the money to pay for his daughter’s college, according to a post on the lottery's Facebook page.

The 47-year-old paid $3 for his ticket because he added the $1 Power Play option.
