U.S. 70 job to shut Arkansas 128 lanes

Work on a $78.5 million project to widen a section of U.S. 70 from Benton to Hot Springs will require intermittent lane closings on Arkansas 128 in Garland County for six days beginning Monday, the Arkansas Department of Transportation said.

Paving operations will require lanes in both directions on Arkansas 128 extending a quarter-mile from U.S. 70 to be closed between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily through Saturday, weather permitting.

Flagging operations will control traffic, but the department said motorists should consider using alternate routes, particularly U.S. 270.
