The Arkansas gun-range owner running for governor said Friday that she's been informed by the FBI that she is on the Islamic State's hit list, the Texarkana Gazette reported.

Nancy Carlton, a spokeswoman for Jan Morgan's campaign, told Arkansas Online that the statement about the Islamic State is "old news" and that the gun-range owner has been on the list for two years. Carlton said the campaign could not provide any documentation to prove the claim.

"When I was working as a television reporter here in the Texarkana area, I chased the bad guys down — now I'm chasing the bad guys down in the state capital," Morgan reportedly said at the Friday meet-and-greet in Fouke.

She also emphasized the differences between her and incumbent Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson, including her agreement with the White House's stance on immigration and her belief in cutting business regulations and government spending, according to the newspaper.

Morgan owns the Gun Cave shooting range in Hot Springs. In 2014, she drew national media attention by declaring her gun range a "Muslim Free Zone," saying that she was concerned about the safety of other customers if Muslims patronized her business.
