Isaiah Joe scored 23 points, including a perfect 17-of-17 from the foul line, to lead the Grizzlies to a win at the Stubblefield Center.
The win was the 11th straight for Northside (14-6, 5-1) over its rival and leads the all-time series 73-42. The Grizzlies also stay in first place tie in the 7A-Central.
The Mavericks (10-10, 2-4) trailed 54-41 with four minutes to play, but climbed to within 60-57 with 41 seconds left on a steal and layup by Jaylin Coleman. Southside, though, could not get the one defensive stop to get a possession to potentially tie the game.
Joe scored 14 points in the final period, including 12-of-12 from the foul line. He made four free throws in the final 30 seconds and teammate Noah Gordon put the game out of reach with a pair of foul shots with 1.9 seconds left.
Besides Joe, Northside's offensive help came from the bench as Anthony Travis Jr. scored 14 points while Gordon added 13. Dylan Hamilton's game-high 19 paced Southside.
Western Grove 76, Mt. Judea 35
Hunter Baker scored a team-high 22 points to lead the Warriors to the big win Friday night.
Carson Parker added 18 and Champ Saylors 13 for the Warriors (19-11).
Russellville 65, Clarksville 45
The Cyclones jumped to a 35-26 halftime lead and cruised to the win Friday night.
Bob Hurley led Clarksville with 22, while Trace Thomas added 15.
Omaha 61, St. Paul 41
Omaha outscored St. Paul 31-13 in the second half to pull away for a 2A/1A District 1 victory.
Seth Lippe had 19 points and Trey Stone 14 for Omaha (29-1), which outscored St. Paul 17-7 in the third quarter to extend a 30-28 halftime cushion. Greyston Perry had 17 to lead St. Paul.
Western Grove 82, Lead Hill 49
Carson Parker poured in 28 points, including six 3-pointers to lead Western Grove to the big win over Lead Hill on Thursday night.
The Warriors (18-11) led 39-21 at halftime. Hunter Baker also added 23 for Western Grove.
West Fork 49, Gentry 43
The Tigers put three players in double figures to hold on for the win Friday night.
Johnny di Camilo led a balanced West Fork attack with 15 points. Justin Bivens and Garren Wynn added 14 each for the Tigers, who led 28-17 at halftime and by nine after three quarters. Bivens also collected a team-high eight rebounds. Dylan Kilgore led Gentry with a game-high 22.
Decatur 41, Lead Hill 38
The Bulldogs (5-15) rallied from an early deficit to knock off Lead Hill
Taylor Haisman led Decatur with 22 points and Ryan Ross added 10.
Siloam Springs 71, Farmington 65 (OT)
Spencer Lashley helped the Panthers rally for an overtime road win.
The Panthers (6-15) trailed for most of regulation but stayed within striking distance of the Cardinals (6-15) with superb outside shooting, hitting 11 3-pointers.
Lashley scored 23 points to lead Siloam Springs, who trailed by as many as 12 points twice in the first half.
Peyton Maxwell led all scorers with 30 for Farmington.
Prairie Grove 48, Greenland 21
Prairie Grove's defense has been superb since winter break ended, according to Tigers coach Steve Edmiston, and the team built on its impressive stretch by putting on a defensive clinic in its victory over Greenland.
The Tigers held the Pirates to 11 points in the first half, nine coming from senior forward Will Overton, who was held to one in the second half. On the other side, senior guard Derek Pearson scored 20 to lead Prairie Grove, while junior guard Will Pridmore added 12 of his own.
Gravette 52, Elkins 39
Gravette coach Matt Busch knows what Kelton Trembly can do. After Friday's performance, the rest of the Lions' fans do to. Trembly scored 15 of his game-high 16 points in the first half, as Gravette defeated Elkins.
Behind the play of Trembly, Dayten Wishon, who scored 11 points, and Chris Childress (12), the Lions (16-5) were able to extend their lead to as many as nine. Elkins pulled within six in the fourth quarter, but Gravette hit free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.
Paxton Bennett led Elkins (15-7, 9-5) with 13 points. Chad Graham added nine.
Berryville 92, Valley Springs 80
Ty Allen scored 35 points, and the red-hot Bobcats continued their late-season run in a home win against Valley Springs.
Berryville (18-6, 8-0 3A/4A District 4) has won five of its last six games and earned a little revenge after falling to the Tigers 83-81 earlier this month.
The anticipated scoring battle with Allen and Valley Springs sophomore Lawson Jenkins lived up to its hype. Jenkins, a 6-foot-5 combo guard, scored a game-high 36 in the loss. The difference was Allen had plenty of help as the Bobcats had four players in double-figures.
In addition to Allen, the Bobcats got major point production from Jarrett Ray, who had 19 and Zach Webb, who finished with 16.
Pea Ridge 77, Shiloh Christian 58
Pea Ridge (19-4, 13-1) had four scorers in double-digits, led by Kobe Rose's 21 points, in the Blackhawks' win over Shiloh Christian (11-8, 9-5).
Rose did his most damage in the second quarter, scoring eight points, to push Pea Ridge's lead to 12 at halftime.
Hayden Holtgrewe and Nick Coble scored 13 points each and Mikey Mahoney chipped in 12 to round out the quartet of double-digit scorers.
Shiloh's Jack Hutchinson and Greg Bryant scored 11 points each to pace the Saints' offense. Bryant was a force on the boards too, bringing in multiple offensive rebounds late in the game to give his team extra chances.
England 78, Abundant Life 43
Tyler Woods scored 16 points and Tamorous Dodson had 14 for the Lions in a victory over the Owls in Sherwood. Abundant Life was led by Taylor Starks' 23 points.
Joe T. Robinson 70, Baptist Prep 62
Senior guard Cameron Bush scored 29 points as the Senators (12-9) upset No. 10 Baptist Prep (19-5) at Robinson.
Lake Hamilton 45, Hope 32
Clyde Hill scored 15 points as the Wolves (17-4) downed the Bobcats (6-14) in a 6A/5A-6 game in Hope. Lake Hamilton led 21-11 at the half and 32-16 after three quarters.
Maumelle Charter 47, Magnet Cove 42
Getting 17 points from Ronnie Peas, the Falcons (17-12) defeated the Panthers (4-14) in Maumelle.
Nettleton 78, Marion 68
Jarquavius Cain scored 30 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Raiders outscored the Patriots in a 6A/5A-3 game. Kevin Fulton added 21 points for Nettleton. Detric Reeves had 24 points and Kindylen Roberts 15 for Marion.
Pulaski Academy 58, Sylvan Hills 56
Senior Zack Fischer scored 17 points and the Bruins (9-8) bounced back from a 37-29 halftime deficit to knock off the Bears (6-15) in a 6A/5A-4 game in Sherwood. Freshman Jalen Ricks led Sylvan Hills with 24 points.
North Little Rock 63, Cabot 49
The Charging Wildcats knocked down seven 3-pointers in a 63-49 victory over the Panthers.
Miles Moody led North Little Rock with 16 points, including three 3-pointers. He made all of his 3-pointers in the first half to help the Charging Wildcats take a 33-18 halftime lead. Also for the Charging Wildcats, Collin Moore scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half. Spencer Simes and Justin Thrower each added nine points.
Noah Allgood scored 14 points to lead Cabot (14-7, 2-5), which has lost four consecutive. Jacob Hudson finished with 13 points and made two three-pointers.
Little Rock Christian 53, Maumelle 51
Justice Hill's game-winning baseline layup with 21 seconds left lifted Little Rock Christian over visiting Maumelle in a 6A/5A-4 Conference game on Friday.
Hill's basket finished off an 11-2 run by Little Rock Christian that erased a 10-point deficit in a two-minute span. The Warriors then relied on their defense that forced Maumelle (11-8, 2-4) into a turnover on its last possession.
Hill scored seven of the last nine points for Little Rock Christian (17-4, 5-0) and finished with 21 points. Mykal Moore's steal and layup just before the buzzer sealed the Warriors' victory
Brahm Harris finished with 21 points for Maumelle, while Tre Flowers added 11.
Little Rock Hall 60, Little Rock Parkview 56
The Warriors took over down the stretch and got 22 points and 8 rebounds from junior forward Greg Johnson to slip past the Patriots 60-56 in 6A/5A-4 Conference game at a packed George Cirks Arena on Friday night.
Senior guard Jonathan Coleman and senior center Kevon Cooper each had 11 points for Hall (15-5, 4-3), which had lost nine of the past 10 meetings with their rivals before getting a much-needed victory in front of a raucous crowd.
Senior guard Rod Terry had a game-high 20 points, including six 3-pointers, while junior forward Allen Flanigan had 11.
Girls
Farmington 67, Siloam Springs 40
With Siloam Springs point guard Chloe Price out with a concussion, Farmington took advantage early and often en route to a 27-point victory.
The Lady Cardinals (25-8) never trailed as super sophomores Makenna Vanzant, Joelle Tidwell and Audrey Culpepper combined for 43 points. They used a tenacious, full-court press to open with an 8-0 lead behind five points by Vanzant, who fought through tight man defense throughout to lead all scorers with 16 points.
The Lady Panthers (7-16) closed the margin to 21-15 on a 3-pointer by Jael Harried and buckets by Morgan Vaughn and Hadlee Hollenback before a personal 8-0 run by Culpepper, including a pair of 3-pointers, pushed the lead to 36-20 by halftime.
Tidwell had 15 points, Culpepper had 12 and senior Camryn Journagan had 10 to give the Lady Cardinals four players in double figures.
Huntsville 48, Bergman 41
The Lady Eagles (11-15) grabbed an early lead and never let it go in a win over Bergman
Maci Campbell scored 15 points to lead the Lady Eagles and Kara Drewyer added 11.
Prairie Grove 61, Greenland 35
Three players scored in double figures for the Lady Tigers in a blowout win Friday night
Junior guard Emily Grant scored 13, junior forward Lexie Madewell scored 12 and sophomore guard Aniyah Gibbs scored 10.
For Greenland, junior guard Destiny Jackson poured in 14, and junior forward Fiona Wilson scored 12.
Gravette 50, Elkins 36
The Lady Lions (16-5) didn't make a field goal for nearly four minutes in the third quarter, but instead hit eight of 10 free throws to pull away for the win.
The Lady Lions made 21 of 35 free throws on the night.
Gravette's Gabbi Curtis led all scorers with 14 points. Calli Kildow scored 13.
Carla Burton led Elkins (13-8) with 10.
Berryville 55, Valley Springs 36
The Lady Bobcats seized control early and won their eighth-straight game as three players scored in double figures.
Berryville (22-1, 8-0 3A/4A District 4) dominated this rematch after winning by just two the first time these two teams met on Jan. 2
The Lady Bobcats pulled away in the second half, doing most of their damage at the free-throw line.
Baylea Smith scored a game-high 17 points to lead Berryville. Kelcee Hooper added 15 points and sophomore point guard Lexy Anderson scored 10.
Valley Springs (21-9, 6-2) had its five-game winning streak snapped with the loss. Brylee Graddy led the Lady Tigers with 15 points.
Fort Smith Northside 74, Fort Smith Southside 38
The Lady Bears (18-2, 5-1 7A-Central) scored the first 14 points of the game and were never threatened in winning their 19th straight game against their city rival Mavericks (3-13, 2-4).
Northside, which leads the overall series 59-37, led 21-7 after a quarter and 44-20 at halftime as Tracey Bershers (11) and Sara Bershers (10) combined for 21 first-half points.
Northside had three players in double figures -- Sara Bershers with 15, Tracey Bershers with 13 and Jazzlyn Coleman with 12. Kelly Carson scored a game-high 16 points for Southside, 14 of which came in the first half.
Pea Ridge 42, Shiloh Christian 34
Gabby Adams had a modest game scoring wise, finishing with four points on three shots, but the junior made her biggest impact on defense with one play in her team's win over Shiloh Christian on Friday night.
With Pea Ridge (10-13, 5-7) only up two points with 45 seconds left in the game, Adams deflected a pass intended for the Saints' Katie Thompson, corralled the loose ball and scored a left-handed layup to give the Blackhawks a two-possession lead.
The steal forced Shiloh (11-10, 6-8), who had been playing tight, on-ball defense, to foul Pea Ridge's Hollyn Davis on the next two possessions. Davis responded by going four-of-four from the line in the last 30 seconds. The junior finished with a game-high 16 points and was clutch in the fourth quarter after she scored nine and went six-of-seven from the free-throw line.
Shiloh Christian ended the game without its star player, Lia Enos, after she went down with an injury with about seven minutes left in the fourth quarter after scoring 11 points.
Beebe 63, Greenbrier 30
Senior Katie Turner poured in 17 points as the Lady Badgers (15-7) downed the Lady Panthers in a 6A/5A-2 game. Libbie Hill added 13 and Hannah Gammill 10 for Beebe. Hannah Donham and Breleigh Simmons each scored eight for Greenbrier.
Carlisle 86, Marvell 26
The Lady Bison (20-3) led 41-0 after the first quarter on their way to a victory over the visiting Lady Mustangs (3-13). Blakely Ellis led Carlisle with 21 points. Kylie Warren added 13, Shelby Hancock 12 and Kiara Miller 10. For Marvell, LaShonta Burrell had 11 points.
England 68, Abundant Life 44
Tatayanan Peinster scored 24 points as the Lady Lions (18-6) posted a victory over the Lady Owls in Sherwood. Tybriana Durham and Diamond Harper each added 13, while Baylee Coleman had 10 for England, which led 38-20 at the half. Haylee Carrell scored 22 for Abundant Life.
Jacksonville 64, Little Rock Fair 18
Sophomore Shy Christopher led the Lady Titans (9-12) with 21 points in a victory over the Lady War Eagles (1-18) in 6A/5A-4 action in Jacksonville. Deshundra Shockley added 12 and Arian Phillips 10 for Jacksonville, which led 25-0 after one quarter and 39-12 at the half.
Mountain Home 76, Batesville 73, 2OT
Hannah Pfeifer scored 33 points as the Lady Bombers (11-10) outlasted the host Lady Pioneers (15-5) in double overtime. Payton Huskey added 19 and Maly Tabor 10 for Mountain Home, which led 34-29 at the half. Taylor Griffin led Batesville with 17 points, Isabella Higginbottom 15, Alley Edwards 12 and Hope Lange 10 for Batesville, which tied the game 57-57 at the end of regulation.
Vilonia 53, Morrilton 44
Paige Kelley's 17 points led the Lady Eagles (19-3) to a 6A/5A-2 victory over the Lady Devil Dogs (14-8) in Vilonia. Laney Mears added 15 and Lauren Patterson 10 for Vilonia, which trailed Morrilton 29-25 at the half. Brooke Kordsmeier scored 10 to lead Morrilton.
Watson Chapel 54, Little Rock McClellan 25
Sophomore Wyvette Mayberry led the Lady Wildcats (18-3) with 13 points in a victory over the visiting Lady Lions (4-14). Sophomore Taylor Whitted and senior Jerica Bell each added 12 for Watson Chapel, which led 20-2 after one quarter and 28-9 at the half. Dasha Brown's 15 points led McClellan.
North Little Rock 37, Cabot 11
The Lady Charging Wildcats led wire-to-wire, routing the Cabot Lady Panthers on Friday night at Panther Arena in a 7A-Central Conference girls basketball game.
North Little Rock (16-3, 5-1) shot 16 of 36 from the floor and held Cabot (7-12, 0-7) to four points in the first half.
Yo'Myris Morris, a TCU signee, led North Little Rock with 16 points. Amber Hawkison added 10 points and made one 3-pointer.
Little Rock Hall 63, Little Rock Parkview 62
Senior forward Alaysia Kelly had 15 points and 17 rebounds to help Little Rock Hall battle back from a huge deficit to beat visiting Little Rock Parkview 63-62 Friday night in a 6A/5A-4 Conference game.
Sophomore forward Kendra Pride finished with 15 points and 15 rebounds, while senior guard Amber Brooks chipped in with 13 points and 5 assists for the Lady Warriors (9-9, 3-4), who trailed 18-1 late in the first quarter and 37-23 at halftime before slowly chipping away in the second half.
Senior forward Erin Carbin had 12 points and 8 rebounds for Hall, which trailed 52-47 at the start of the fourth quarter but used a 13-2 run to take the lead for good.
Parkview (11-6, 5-2) had a chance to win but missed a lay-up at the buzzer.
Senior guard Kania Lasker had 38 points, 10 steals and 6 rebounds for the Lady Patriots, who shot 26 of 75 (34.7 percent) from the floor but were dominated on the glass 54-32. Senior guard Mikayla Alexander added 11 points for Parkview.
