Two of 3 escapees from Arkansas jail back in custody, sheriff says

ASH FLAT — Two prisoners are back in custody after they along with a third inmate escaped Wednesday morning from a county jail in north Arkansas.

Sharp County Sheriff Mark Counts said Christopher John Frey, 25, of Horseshoe Bend and Robert Lynn Pollard, 18, of Evening Shade were back in custody Wednesday night after escaping earlier in the day.

They were discovered missing along with Randall Paul Sledge, 31, of Conway during a morning check.

Authorities haven’t disclosed how they were able to slip away.

Counts said Sledge may be heading to Missouri. Part of Sharp County borders that state.

Pollard had been jailed on charges of fleeing on foot, escape, possession of a controlled substance and other alcohol-related counts, records show.

Frey had been held on charges of criminal use of a prohibited weapon, possession of a controlled substance and theft by receiving.

Sledge faced charges of fleeing in a vehicle and fleeing on foot as well as counts from other agencies.
