Dressed in snowy white clothing and looking refreshingly cool on a hot July evening, partygoers helped raise money for scholarships July 7 at Firefighters All White Affair held at the Little Rock Marriott.
The scene was set in the ballroom with blue lighting and round guest tables covered in white cloths and centered with tall vases of white ostrich plumes for decoration.
Outside, on the ballroom's balcony overlooking the Arkansas River, there were cocktail tables, white lounge seating and music. The entertainment for the affair was R&B singer and songwriter Jon B, the PC Band of Memphis and DJs Nick Hud and Hy-C.
The money raised benefits Finding Incentives Reaching and Empowering Students Inc. or FIRES, which works to improve fire service job opportunities for minorities by offering full emergency medical technician scholarships for students to use toward gaining an EMT certification at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.Gallery: Firefighters All White Affair
