Shot at while trying to leave Little Rock strip club, manager tells police

A Little Rock strip club manager was shot at Friday morning while trying to leave the establishment, he told police.

The 33-year-old said a light blue minivan traveled into the parking lot of Paper Moon, 3310 Mabelvale Pike, around 6 a.m. and pulled up behind his black 2008 Ford F-150, according to a report from the city’s Police Department.

One of the van's occupants then held a weapon out the driver’s-side window and fired an unknown amount of shots in the direction of the pickup, authorities said.

The manager said he heard what sounded like something hitting his Ford and later observed a dent on the right rear side of the vehicle.

The van, which the Little Rock resident had seen earlier in the night on the parking lot’s south end, traveled north on Mabelvale Pike after the gunshots, the report noted.

The 33-year-old told officers he believed a recently fired manager and promoter were responsible for the shooting.

Witnesses said they heard the shots and observed the van — described by one witness as green in color — traveling east on West 33rd Street.

The shooter was described as a heavyset back male with dreadlocks. No suspects were named, and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.
