No injuries reported after train derails in southern Arkansas

A train derailed in south Arkansas early Friday, but it stayed upright and no injuries were reported, authorities said.

It happened between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. at tracks near Arkansas 98 and Columbia County Road 13 in McNeil.

An official with the Columbia County sheriff's office said there were no reports of spills. Arkansas 98 was shut for several hours, but it reopened before 10 a.m., the Arkansas Department of Transportation reported.

It wasn't yet known what caused the derailment.
