Verizon hopping with Lambert tour, Winter Jam

The annual Winter Jam showcasing contemporary Christian artists will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is a $15 donation at the door for the all-ages show, which lasts four hours.

Skillet is headlining the 46-city tour, which will also feature Kari Jobe with Cody Carnes; Building 429; KB; NewSong; Jordan Feliz; John Crist; and Nick Hall.

Kari Jobe and Building 429 have been nominated for Grammy Awards and NewSong, creator of the tour and its host, has won a Grammy. KB is a hip-hop musician and Feliz has won a Dove Award. Crist is a comedian and viral sensation. And Hall is an evangelist, author and speaker who will deliver a message.

The Pre-Jam Party will feature worship artist Dan Bremnes, singer-songwriterMallary Hope and new artist Westover.

Country singer Miranda Lambert will bring her "Livin' Like Hippies" tour to Verizon Arena for a 7 p.m. show Saturday. Opening acts are Jon Pardi and Sunny Sweeney. Tickets are $77.75, $62.75 and $42.75.

Lambert's song, "Highway Vagabond," has a line it about "livin' like hippies," (and the name she chose for her 2017 tour was "The Highway Vagabond Tour.")

Lambert released a self-titled debut album in 2001 and has since released five more albums, the latest of which, The Weight of These Wings, came out in 2016. She is also a member of a country trio, The Pistol Annies. Of her 164 award nominations, she has won 52, including 23 Academy of Country Music Awards, 13 Country Music Association Awards, 7 CMT Music Awards, 5 American Country Awards and two Grammy Awards.

Pardi, a native of Dixon, Calif., has released two albums since his 2014 debut. He has toured with Dierks Bentley, Alan Jackson and Brothers Osborne. Sweeney, a native of Houston, has released four albums since her debut release, Heartbreaker's Hall of Fame, came out in March 2006.

Lambert has announced there will be a "Little Red Wagon" site at the bottom of the main stairs to Verizon Arena, for those who would like to support homeless animals with pet food, treats or pet supplies, to benefit the Humane Society of Pulaski County. One donor and guest will be randomly selected to win a meet and greet with Lambert before the concert.

Dana Louise & The Glorious Birds will perform at 9 p.m. Friday. Admission is $7.

Louise is the daughter of Ezra Idlet, of the folk-rock duo, Trout Fishing in America. Idlet and his TFIA partner, Keith Grimwood, are also members of Louise's band.

Andrew Bryant will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $7.

The Rios, Couch Jackets, Sabine Valley, Recognizer and Jamie Lou & the Hullabaloo will perform at 8 p.m. Friday in the Arkansas Times Musicians' Showcase finals. Tickets range from $6 to $21.

Kevin Griffin, lead singer of the band Better Than Ezra, will perform at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $25.

Griffin, 49, formed Better Than Ezra in 1988 while a student at Louisiana State University, and is known for his falsetto singing and his skill as a mimic of other singers, including Aaron Neville and Bruce Springsteen. He also writes or co-writes songs for other musicians, including Taylor Swift, Sugarland, Train, Debbie Harry, James Blunt, Missy Higgins, Skillet and The Secret Sisters.

Pop Evil, on the band's Music Over Words tour, will perform, along with opening acts Palaye Royale and Black Map, at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 the day of the show.

Pop Evil launched its Music Over Words tour to support Music Gives to St. Jude Kids, at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.
