WHAT: Moon Cheese

STATS: Varies by flavor. A serving (6 or 7 pieces) of the Gouda flavor contains 70 calories and 5 fat, zero carbohydrate, zero fiber, zero sugar and 5 protein grams. We found it at Target, 420 S. University Ave., Little Rock. Visit mooncheese.com.

THE SKINNY: Moon Cheese promises the moon.

The gluten-free, low-carb snack features coarse, crunchy balls of pure cheese (from the cute packaging: "Ingredients: Just Cheese"). It reminds us of Cheetos, but without the fakeness and orange fingers. It's available in four flavors: Gouda, Cheddar, Mozzarella and Pepper Jack.

But we're not totally over the moon with it. A serving is only 6 or 7 pieces, and good luck trying to count them out, as some are broken in the package. There are technically 4.5 (!) servings in a 2-ounce package but, practically, there are two.

And we paid $3.99 for one teeny 2-ounce package (online, it's even more expensive: $4.99, plus shipping with an $11.97 minimum). The price for Moon Cheese is astronomical.
