UALR to honor faculty members

Awards ceremony set in April

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock will recognize 17 faculty members during its annual Faculty Excellence Awards ceremony next month.

A panel of judges from outside UALR ranks will review the college-level winners and select three universitywide winners: one in teaching, one in research and one in public service. The three universitywide winners will each receive a cash prize of $5,000.

The ceremony -- funded by contributions of the Office of the Chancellor, the Office of the Provost, and the UALR Chancellor's Circle -- is a way for the university to recognize the work of its faculty. The university has held the ceremony since 1989.
