FRESH FOOD: Move indoors fine with Lettuce set

Rain may have moved the party indoors, but it didn't stop the festivities on May 4 at Lettuce Grow -- a fundraiser for the St. Joseph Center of Arkansas in North Little Rock.

Lights were strung overhead in the hallways where guests could bid on silent auction items including art from Kevin Kresse, V.L. Cox and Melissa Wilkinson. Chef Margie Raimondo of Southern Table served up a salad using fresh kale from St. Joseph's gardens and other tasty bites utilizing local products. There was music by Mark Currey and the signature drink was a pretty green cocktail, also called the Lettuce Grow.

The event also honored current and former board members and celebrated the season opening of the St. Joseph Farm Stand. Money raised supports the mission of the St. Joseph Center of Arkansas to preserve the historic building, a former orphanage, continue as a self-sustaining farm and support the community.
