A 53-year-old Arkansas woman was killed Wednesday when her vehicle veered off Interstate 40 and overturned, authorities said.
Shortly before 8:30 a.m., Patricia Farnam of Fort Smith was driving a 2015 Chevrolet east on the highway near Ozark when the vehicle went off the highway in a curve, according to an Arkansas State Police report.
The Chevrolet then hit a tree and an embankment before overturning and coming to a rest in the median, police wrote.
Farnam suffered fatal injuries. No one else was listed as being hurt.
It was raining at the time of the single-vehicle crash, the report noted.
At least 406 people have died in traffic accidents in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary reports.
