REGIONAL

Class 4A

Nashville 36, Elkins 0

Two defensive touchdowns helped the Scrappers pull away from Elkins in a first-round playoff game Friday night.

The Scrappers will be at home for the second round next Friday when they host Bauxite, a 21-6 victor over Trumann in its playoff opener.

Lonoke 35, Prairie Grove 26

Braidon Bryant rushed for 252 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Jackrabbits.

Class 3A

Harding Academy 27, Greenland 13

Harding Academy (7-3) scored the game's final 20 points to score a come-from-behind victory over Greenland (6-5).

Greenland struck twice in the first quarter on touchdown passes of 30 and 76 yards from Levi Vaughn to Zaylen Bryant.

Harding Academy tied the game at 7-7 on Stone Sheffield's 24-yard run before Greenland's second long touchdown pass gave the Pirates a 13-7 lead.

Harding Academy quarterback Davis Morgan got rolling in the second quarter, hitting Jimmy Citty on a 17-yard pass to the tie game at 13-13.

Morgan gave Harding Academy its first lead with a 5-yard run early in the third quarter, and Morgan's pass to Sheffield (23-109 rushing, 1 TD; 3-48 receiving, 1 TD) completed the scoring.

Lamar 28, Atkins 24

Jacob Parmenter scored the winning touchdown on a 20-yard fourth-quarter run to lift Lamar (9-2) over Atkins (7-4).

Caleb Hyatt scored on runs of 7 and 34 yards in the game's final 10 minutes, and Kam'ryn Taylor added a 3-yard run in Magazine's 20-point fourth quarter.

Kobe Faughn's 22-yard run with less than three minutes to play was Carlisle's only score.

STATE

Class 6A

Pine Bluff 21, El Dorado 15

El Dorado's senior playmakers were on the sideline Friday night with injuries. Pine Bluff senior Berkarion Black was on the field making plays.

Black's 19-yard touchdown reception with 1:53 left to play gave the Zebras a victory in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs at Memorial Stadium. Black's interception on El Dorado's ensuing possession helped preserve the Pine Bluff victory.

Jarmel Love scored from 5 yards out with 3:43 left in the game to put El Dorado (5-6) up 15-13.

The Zebras (5-5-1) took over at the 19 with 3:31 left on the clock. They put together a 12-play drive, converting a pair of fourth downs before Black's game-winning catch.

Black intercepted a pass on the next play but El Dorado's defense made another stop with Jacoby Hankton recovering a fumble at the 47. Shepherd scrambled for 13 and Love had a 16-yard reception. But the game ended when Shepherd's Hail Mary toss was batted down well short of the end zone.

Jonesboro 47, Lake Hamilton 44

The Hurricane overcome an early 10-point deficit as quarterback Cross Jumper accounted for four touchdowns, and Jonesboro (7-4) held on to beat Lake Hamilton (5-6).

Jonesboro fell behind 10-0 after fumbling a ball out of the end zone for a safety and yielding a 100-yard interception return and two-point conversion to Lake Hamilton in the game's opening minutes.

Jumper (14-21 passing, 207 yards, 3 TDs; 21-110 rushing, 1 TD) threw 3 touchdown passes to Tate Lutes (6-98 receiving) and Jumper scored on a 21-yard run as the Hurricane charged to a 47-36 lead with three minutes to play.

Lake Hamilton scored and converted a two-point conversion to make it 47-44, recovered an onside-kick attempt and had a chance to tie or win the game before Logan Orr's interception secured the victory for Jonesboro.

Class 5A

LR McClellan 24, Valley View 14

Senior utility back Xavion Morgan ran 17 times for 133 yards and 1 touchdown as Little Rock McClellan opened the Class 5A playoffs with a victory over Valley View.

McClellan (10-1) is at four-time defending state champion Pulaski Academy in next week's quarterfinals, the schools' third playoff matchup in the last four seasons.

After trailing Valley View 7-0 at halftime, McClellan scored on its first three possessions of the second half to take a commanding 24-7 lead with 3:58 remaining in the third quarter. Morgan capped the burst with a 57-yard touchdown run.

The Lions, 5A-South's No. 2 playoff seed, finished with 252 rushing yards on 53 attempts. But they lost three fumbles, including two in the first half, and were penalized 15 times for 145 yards.

Morrilton 28, LR Parkview 26

Two mistakes -- a failed extra point and a fumbled snap -- ended Little Rock Parkview's season in the first round of the 5A playoffs Friday at Morrilton.

With less than 4:00 remaining in the fourth quarter, Parkview fumbled a snap deep in Morrilton territory. The Devil Dogs recovered and after a 25-yard touchdown from junior running back Xavier Clemons, they were celebrating.

Parkview, which missed the extra point after its first touchdown of the evening, trailed 21-20 before the fumble secured a Morrilton victory in its first home playoff game since 2013.

The Patriots purposefully allowed the Devil Dogs to score shortly after the fumble, Parkview coach Brad Bolding said. They needed the ball back sooner rather than later in order to potentially manufacture a 28-28 tie.

Trailing 28-20 with one minute remaining, Parkview senior quarterback/running back Geary Allmon III tossed a 12-yard touchdown pass to sophomore wide receiver Erin Outley with 22 seconds to go and cut the Devil Dogs' lead to 28-26. The Patriots failed to score a two-point conversion and Morrilton survived.

LR Christian 63, Greenbrier 26

Little Rock Christian had a much tougher time with Greenbrier on Friday night than it did when the teams met in September, but Justice Hill made sure that was the only thing that changed in their rematch.

The senior quarterback accounted for 458 yards of total offense and seven touchdowns as the Warriors erased an early 13-point deficit.

Kendel Givens had 23 carries for 165 yards and 1 touchdown while M.J. Loggins added 10 catches for 137 yards for Little Rock Christian (10-1), which had a relatively easy time beating Greenbrier 56-13 in Week 3 but had to fight its way back before pulling away in the second half Friday.

The Warriors, who had more than 650 yards of offense, will travel to Texarkana next week in the second round.

Greenbrier (7-4) got three passing touchdowns from quarterback Andrew Johnson, who missed the first meeting between the teams, but the Panthers didn't have an answer for Hill. The 5-11 speedster completed 24 of 32 passes for 281 yards with a score and ran 22 times for 177 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Arkansas High 27, Nettleton 27

Cameron Collier ran for a career-high 248 yards and a touchdown to lead the Razorbacks.

Arkansas High (10-1) tallied 343 yards of defense while its defense allowed just 182 yards -- 117 of those coming in the second half trailing 27-0. The defense also forced four turnovers, including two fumble recoveries in the final 13 seconds of the first half. Larry Jefferson and Tyrie Black each recovered a fumble and DeJordan Mask intercepted a pass in the end zone.

Heber Springs scored 17 consecutive points and led 17-8 with 4:43 to play in the first half.

Julian Cameron kicked a 34-yard field goal, Nelson scored on a 2-yard run and Martin's 5-yard run gave Heber Springs the lead.

Pocahontas countered with Nichols' second touchdown pass to Adams, a 53-yard play, to trail 17-14 with 4:20 to play in the half.

Heber Springs regained a 10-point lead on Martin's 76-yard pass to Tri Johnson with 1:34 left before intermission.

Pocahontas made it 24-20 at halftime on Nichols' third touchdown pass to Adams, a 13-year completion, with 2.3 seconds to play.

Martin's third touchdown pass, a 9-yard pass to Fate Berry, completed the scoring late in the third quarter.

Joe T. Robinson 47, Pottsville 12

The Senators started their Class 4A playoff run Friday night by making quick work of the Pottsville Apaches.

Robinson (9-2) will face Hamburg, the No. 3 seed from the 8-4A, in a second-round game Friday at home.

Senior quarterback Greyson Tackett threw three touchdown passes in the first half to lead the Senators to a 35-0 halftime lead. Denarius Crowder scored on a 52-yard run for Earle in the third quarter.
