Equity, etc. auditions
Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre and the Arkansas Repertory Theatre will jointly hold general Equity auditions for their 2019 seasons, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Dec. 3 and 5 at the Rep Annex, 518 Main St., Little Rock.
Prepare two very brief monologues to be considered for a Shakespeare production or a monologue and a very brief song if you also want to be considered for the musical; provide sheet music in the appropriate key for the accompanist. Email a head shot and resume to casting@arkshakes.com; they'll fill all available Dec. 3 slots before making Dec. 5 appointments. Casting will be for a variety of ages and ethnicities.
The Shakespeare Theatre will stage William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors and Macbeth and Frank Loesser's musical Guys and Dolls in repertory, June 7-July 7, at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, plus a "family" reduced-length production of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet that will also tour the state. The Rep is seeking actors for principal roles for the Kander and Ebb musical Chicago, Feb. 19-March 24; Native Gardens by Karen Zacarias, April 16-May 5; Million Dollar Quartet, Sept. 3-Oct. 6; and a radio-play version of It's a Wonderful Life on Dec. 3-22, 2019.
