Pemberley Christmas

Two years after the conclusion of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, a Christmastime family gathering at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Darcy finally gives Mary, the Bennets' bookish middle child, her day in Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon. King and I on screen

The King and I: From the Palladium, the Lincoln Center Theater production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I, starring Kelli O'Hara as Anna Leonowens and Ken Watanabe as the King of Siam, filmed on the stage of the London Palladium, hits big screens -- including the Breckenridge Village 12 in Little Rock, the McCain Mall 12 in North Little Rock and the Malco Razorback Cinema in Fayetteville -- at 7 p.m. Thursday and Dec. 4. Bluegrass Monday

Snow White on tour

• Breakfast with Santa, 8:30, 9:15 and 10 a.m. Saturday, including breakfast served by "Santa's Elves," gingerbread-cookie decorating, making reindeer food and creating Christmas ornaments. 'Capitol Event'

Saturday's Arkansas Chamber Singers' ninth annual "A Capitol Event Dinner & Silent Auction" includes a cash bar at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 at the Little Rock Club, atop the Regions Financial Center, 400 W. Capitol Ave., Little Rock. The B-Flats Band will perform and the club will be a good place to watch the post-Big Jingle Jubilee fireworks over the state Capitol. Tickets are $125. Hendrix College's 2018 Candlelight Carol Services will include the world premieres of "On Christmas Night All Christians Sing" by Charles West, winner of this year's Candlelight Carol Competition, and "Love Came Down at Christmas" by the college's organist, Timothy Allen, 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 4 p.m. Dec. 2 in Greene Chapel at Hendrix, 1600 Washington Ave., Conway. Equity, etc. auditions

Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre and the Arkansas Repertory Theatre will jointly hold general Equity auditions for their 2019 seasons, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Dec. 3 and 5 at the Rep Annex, 518 Main St., Little Rock.

Prepare two very brief monologues to be considered for a Shakespeare production or a monologue and a very brief song if you also want to be considered for the musical; provide sheet music in the appropriate key for the accompanist. Email a head shot and resume to casting@arkshakes.com; they'll fill all available Dec. 3 slots before making Dec. 5 appointments. Casting will be for a variety of ages and ethnicities.

The Shakespeare Theatre will stage William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors and Macbeth and Frank Loesser's musical Guys and Dolls in repertory, June 7-July 7, at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, plus a "family" reduced-length production of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet that will also tour the state. Rehearsals begin May 14. All acting positions are paid. Housing will be provided for actors coming from outside central Arkansas. Call (501) 852-0702.

Adult non-Equity actors can audition for the Shakespeare Theatre by appointment, 1-7 p.m. Dec. 16 at Reynolds Performance Hall, UCA, 201 Donaghey Ave., Conway. Prepare two contrasting monologues (at least one of which should be from Shakespeare) or one Shakespeare monologue and 32 bars of a song to be considered for the musical; provide sheet music in the appropriate key. Total audition time should be no more than 3 minutes. Auditions for actors younger than 18 will take place Jan. 7; more information is available online at arkshakes.com/join. Non-Equity actors are eligible to join and earn points in the Equity Membership Candidate program.

The Rep is seeking actors for principal roles for the Kander and Ebb musical Chicago, Feb. 19-March 24; Native Gardens by Karen Zacarias, April 16-May 5; Million Dollar Quartet, Sept. 3-Oct. 6; and a radio-play version of It's a Wonderful Life on Dec. 3-22, 2019. Appointments are for Equity actors only but non-Equity actors may show up on audition day and try out if time permits.

Little Rock auditions for Chicago will take place by appointment Dec. 8 at the Rep Annex.
