1 dead, 1 injured in head-on collision in Northwest Arkansas

A man died and a woman was hurt Tuesday in a head-on collision in Northwest Arkansas, authorities said.

The wreck happened at 3:15 p.m. near the intersection of Parsons Road and County Road 91 in Washington County, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary repot.

Troopers wrote that 34-year-old Tiffany Clagg of Meridian, Miss., was driving a 2010 Kia on the county road when her vehicle crossed the centerline and hit a 2010 Toyota head-on.

The Toyota's driver, identified as 50-year-old Steven Lackey of Lowell, suffered fatal injuries, authorities said. Clagg was listed as injured.

Conditions were described as clear and dry at the time of the wreck.

At least 366 people have died in crashes on Arkansas roads so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
