An Arkansas woman accused of fatally shooting her boyfriend during an argument Tuesday has been charged with capital murder, authorities said.

Crawford County sheriff's office deputies responded at 5:30 p.m. to the shooting at a business in the 6200 block of U.S. 64 in Van Buren, Chief Deputy James Damant said.

Damant said Christina McKee, 25, of Fort Smith went to the business and shot her boyfriend Shawn Sewell twice in the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the sceme.

McKee fled and was arrested about an hour later by Van Buren police during a traffic stop, Damant said.

Records show she was taken to the Crawford County jail, where she remained Wednesday afternoon in lieu of $750,000 bond.

Damant said the slaying came a few days after a series of arguments between the couple occurred over the weekend. Deputies had been sent to break up the couple's fights multiple times before Tuesday's shooting, he added.
