A man was cut in the neck during a disturbance Wednesday at a Little Rock homeless camp, authorities said.
The 31-year-old victim, Brian Dennis, told police that 46-year-old Shelby Easter was causing a disturbance at the camp, located behind National Auto Parts at 4601 S. University Ave., according to a Little Rock Police Department report.
Easter cut Dennis in the neck with a knife at 2:50 p.m. when Dennis asked him to leave, according to the report.
Officers wrote that the cut was about 2 inches long and deep. Dennis was taken to CHI St. Vincent Infirmary for surgery. There was no immediate update on his condition Friday.
Easter was arrested and charged with first-degree battery. He was booked at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday into the Pulaski County jail, where he remained Friday morning in lieu of $15,000 bond, records show.
