Police: Woman, 21, dies, four people hurt in crash on Northwest Arkansas highway

A 21-year-old woman was killed and four others, including two youths, were hurt in a three-vehicle collision on U.S. 412 in Tontitown, Arkansas State Police said.

It happened shortly before 9:40 p.m. Thursday after a westbound Toyota Camry driven by Emily Astrid Adams traveled into the the center turn lane and then the eastbound lanes, authorities wrote.

The Camry crashed into an eastbound Hyundai Tucson and then was hit by an eastbound Nissan Titan, the report said.

Adams suffered fatal injuries. Four people in the Titan — the adult driver, an adult passenger and two minors — suffered unspecified injuries.

Conditions at the time were said to be clear and dry. The report didn't indicate what may have caused the Camry to leave the westbound lanes.

At least 372 people have died in traffic crashes so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
