Robbers accused of stealing woman's car, breaking into sister's home, police in Little Rock say

Authorities said a woman who was held in her car at gunpoint escaped shortly before the kidnappers broke into her sister's home early Friday.

The 21-year-old victim told police she was in her Jeep at 12:10 a.m. outside the Bopp Liquor at 1022 E. 9th St. Her 30-year-old ex-boyfriend was with her, waiting for a friend to arrive to sell him drugs, according to a report from the Little Rock Police Department.

When the friend arrived, he got into the vehicle, put a gun to her side and told her to drive to her sister's house using only the back roads, the report states.

Officers wrote that the victim's ex-boyfriend told her to comply.

The report states that the woman drove until she saw the Marriott Hotel at 3 Statehouse Plaza, where she got out and began yelling for help.

The gunman then got into the driver's seat and drove away with her phone and debit card still in the Jeep, according to the report.

While fleeing the scene, the robber drove over the victim's foot. The woman, who is eight weeks pregnant, was taken to UAMS Medical Center for treatment, police said.

About half an hour later, the Pulaski County sheriff's office reported that the two men broke into a home on British Colonial Drive in Little Rock. The residence belonged to the victim's 21-year-old sister, the report states.

The intruders are accused of entering her bedroom, pointing a gun at her and searching her closet, deputies said. It appears they left without taking anything.

No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
