Authorities arrested a would-be robber who is accused of hitting a woman in the head with brass knuckles and trying to take her purse Friday night in east Little Rock, according to a report.

A man flagged down officers at 9:30 p.m. and said his 28-year-old wife had been attacked near the intersection of 17th and Cumberland streets, according to a report from the Little Rock Police Department.

The victim told officers she had been walking with her husband and two friends when the assailant approached her and attempted to take her purse. During the struggle, the attacker, identified by police as 40-year-old Quadir Broadway of Little Rock, hit her in the back of the head with brass knuckles, the report states.

Officers wrote that Broadway also threatened to kill the victim and her friends and "shoot up" Little Rock.

Broadway was arrested in the 1500 block of Main Street and booked at 12:30 a.m. Saturday into the Pulaski County jail on charges of robbery and first-degree terroristic threatening. He remained in jail Monday afternoon in lieu of $5,000 bond.
