In less than a week, break-ins reported at 3 Little Rock eateries, 1 fitness center

A Little Rock ice cream shop, deli, personal fitness center and fast-food restaurant were hit in a string of burglaries from Monday night to Wednesday morning, reports show.

Police Department spokesman Lt. Michael Ford said authorities do not believe the burglaries are related.

A burglar came in through the window at Wow Fitness at 5521 Mabelvale Pike on Monday night, according to one police report.

The thief pried the bar off a locked window, opened it, and went through drawers and cabinets in the business, taking $100 in cash, the report states.

The owner found the open window shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday, according to the report. The building is used as “a smoothie and bar location” to accompany the fitness center location at 5523 Mabelvale Pike, the owner told police.

Baskin Robbins and Terri Lynn’s BBQ and Deli, both housed at 10102 N. Rodney Parham Road, were burglarized shortly after 3 a.m. Tuesday, a separate report states. Authorities noted that camera footage showed an individual breaking in through the front door of the deli then throwing a rock through the front door of Baskin Robbins.

The burglar left the ice cream store with a cash drawer that contained $500, police said. The thief wore a pink toboggan or pink scarf, black coat, gray gloves, khaki pants and Converse Chuck Taylors that were white with black laces, the report shows.

The Sonic at 8100 Geyer Springs Road was broken into around 4 a.m. Wednesday, authorities said. The burglar took $310 in cash and a counterfeit $100 bill that had come from a customer, according to a report.

An officer noted that video showed the person breaking the glass of the south door and entering the business, The burglar was said to stand about 5 feet 10 inches tall; wore a red beanie, black sweatshirt and gray sweatpants; and had brown hair and brown eyes.

No suspects were named in the burglaries, and no arrests had been made at the time of the reports.
