An Arkansas man is being held on a sexual assault charge after he repeatedly had intercourse with a 13-year-old girl, authorities said.
David Walter Labrun, 18, of Lakeview was charged with second-degree sexual assault after he admitted to having sex with the girl several times, beginning in August, according to a release from the Baxter County sheriff’s office.
Authorities said the sheriff’s office and state police began to investigate after the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline received a report Tuesday that a man was involved with a 13-year-old girl. Both Labrun and girl were interviewed, the release states.
Labrun was being held in the Baxter County jail on careless driving, driving without a license and failure to appear charges from the Bull Shoals Police Department on Thursday afternoon, according to the release and online jail records. His initial $385 bail has been upped to $25,000 with the addition of the assault charge, authorities said.
