— Arkansas and Oklahoma State have agreed to renew their long-dormant football series in 2024, part of a two-game contract that will include games on both campuses.

The Razorbacks and Cowboys will play Sept. 7, 2024, at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Okla., and the Cowboys will return to Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium on Sept. 11, 2027. The campuses are separated by about 180 miles and the programs have played regular-season games in several sports in recent years.

Arkansas and Oklahoma State have played 46 times, but not since a 33-20 win by the Razorbacks on Sept. 20, 1980, in Little Rock. Arkansas leads the series with a 30-15-1 record.

The teams were simultaneous members of the Southwest Conference from 1915 until the Cowboys left in 1925 for what would become the Missouri Valley Conference.

The Razorbacks and Cowboys played every season between 1962-80, typically at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock and often in the season opener for both teams. The teams played nine times between 1950-60.

Arkansas has won 22 of the past 27 meetings between the programs.

Arkansas has played nine times in Stillwater, but only twice since 1951, and Oklahoma State has not played in Fayetteville since 1945.

The matchups are the farthest in advance scheduled for Arkansas. Earlier this year the Razorbacks agreed to play Notre Dame twice - in South Bend, Ind., in 2020 and in Fayetteville in 2025.

Arkansas also has a scheduled non-conference game against Texas scheduled for 2021 in Fayetteville, the conclusion of a two-game series that began in 2008.

Despite being geographically located near several Big 12 campuses, Oklahoma State is only the fourth Big 12 team Arkansas has scheduled a series against since the Big 12 was founded in 1996.

The Razorbacks have scheduled four regular-season games against Texas, played a home-and-home series with Texas Tech and were scheduled to play Texas A&M 10 times in Arlington, Texas, beginning in 2009. The Aggies moved to the SEC three years later.

Arkansas played Big 12 member TCU in 2016 and 2017, but that series was finalized in 2001 while the Horned Frogs were a member of Conference USA.
