An Arkansas man won $380,001 playing the Natural State Jackpot game, according to a Tuesday statement from the state lottery.

Thomas Bedran purchased the $1 ticket from the Snappy Mart at 101 County Road 5 in Mountain Home.

Bedran, who owns Tom’s Door and Glass in Mountain Home, wasn’t even in Arkansas last Thursday when he heard someone purchased a big winner, a news release states. He was working in New Orleans.

“I went back to work and later decided maybe I should check my numbers,” Bedran said in the statement from the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery. “So I called the Snappy Mart and asked the clerk to read me the winning numbers. I couldn’t believe I had them all.”

Bedran told lottery officials he plans to buy a new truck for his business and “spoil his grandchildren at Christmas.”

“My fiancée, Sue, told me she loves me 380,000 times more now,” he said.
