Arkansas woman accused in murder-for-hire case

Authorities said they have arrested an Arkansas woman who is accused in a murder-for-hire case.

Stephanie Rogers, 48, of Monticello was arrested Thursday and charged with conspiracy to commit capital murder and solicitation to commit capital murder, according to a news release from Arkansas State Police.

The arrest came after the Monticello Police Department received information that Rogers wanted an individual killed. The individual's identity and relationship to Rogers have not been released.

On Tuesday, Monticello police contacted Arkansas State Police, which began an investigation and made the arrest, the release states.

Rogers was taken to the Drew County jail and is expected to appear at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Warren District Court before Judge Bruce Anderson, prosecuting attorney Thomas Deen said.
