In less than 10 minutes, a thief wearing a Razorback shirt took cash from registers at two Little Rock businesses Tuesday, authorities said.

Police said the first theft happened at 6:55 p.m. at the EZ Mart on 2711 W. Markham St. Officers then responded seven minutes later to the Walgreens less than a mile away at 3901 W. Markham St.

In both cases, the thief attempted to purchase snacks and lunged over the counter when the cashier opened the register, according to separate reports from the city's Police Department.

Officers wrote that employees fought with the individual as he grabbed for the cash, but no injuries were reported.

The male stole and undisclosed amount of cash from the EZ Mart and took $99 from the Walgreens, police said.

He was described as a black male standing between 5 feet, 5 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing between 160 and 180 pounds.

No suspect has been named, and no arrest had been made at the time of the reports.

One of the most important qualities to have in order to be a Little Rock Police officer is the ability to write a neat legible report.

Clap clap clap...so far this week, ARDEMGAZ is 7/8 giving accurate description of the perp(s). Please, no more yellow journalism describing them as "teens", "youths", or a "scuffle", etc.
