A female minor who had been shot "multiple times" was found on an Arkansas road around noon Thursday, authorities said.

According to the Garland County sheriff's office, the youth — whose name was not released — was discovered in the 100 block of Housley Point Road around noon.

The female was airlifted to Arkansas Children's Hospital, Under Sheriff Jason Lawrence said.

Lawrence, asked about reports that the shooting was the result of a carjacking, said authorities were "investigating all possibilities at this point."

The owner of a dump truck that was behind the yellow crime scene tape told a Sentinel-Record reporter that his employees observed the girl crawling across the road and stopped to help.

The sheriff's office is looking for a maroon 2002 Honda CRV with Arkansas license plate 649 XFL in relation to the shooting.

Golfer I'll tell you its tragedy like this that breaks my cold heart.
Whether a miracle of God or human endurance, the beauty of the natural soul, a blessing that this young girl is still alive. She may need police protection. This is just atrocious.

Titleist, I am happy if my taxes go to saving someone's life. Much better than all the money we waste on Jason Rapert's nonsense. I hope she is okay.

Another tragic crime with few answers. I was think tho, that there was a law now that prohibited 16 year old's from driving by themselves.
