Robber takes pickup from Little Rock dealership at start of test drive, runs over employee, authorities say

A robber stole a pickup worth $25,000 from a Little Rock car dealership Wednesday afternoon and ran over an employee while fleeing, police said.

Officers were called to 4600 University Ave., the listed address for Steve Landers Kia, shortly before 2 p.m.

A 27-year-old Conway man told authorities he was showing a blue 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 to a potential customer when the male drove away while the employee was trying to get into the passenger seat. According to a report from the city's Police Department, the employee tried to hold on to the truck but was run over.

Officers noted he had abrasions to his legs and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.

According to the 27-year-old, the robber had arrived at the dealership with another person in a 2014 or 2015 Gold Cadillac CTS, and one of the two is nicknamed "D."

No suspects were named, and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.
