Police: Boy, 14, finds bodies of mother, stepfather in Little Rock home; deaths probed as homicides

Authorities have identified two people found dead Sunday inside their Little Rock home, and investigators say the deaths are being investigated as homicides.

Little Rock police said a 14-year-old boy found the bodies of his mother, 35-year-old Sonia Ann Gray, and stepfather, 37-year-old William Gray, about 3:30 p.m. in the family's home at 8518 Westwood Ave. after returning from church.

After finding the victims, the boy injured himself leaving the house and needed to be taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to a news release from the Police Department. A police spokesman characterized the injuries as scratches the teen got while running out of the residence.

An adult who dropped the boy off at the house after church called police, who found the man and woman dead from gunshot wounds, the release states.

Officers wrote that the bodies were being taken to the state Crime Lab for autopsies, and the boy was released into the custody of his aunt.

No suspect has been named.
