2 Arkansas women's knife fight ends with 2 hurt, 2 arrested, authorities say

FAYETTEVILLE — Two Northwest Arkansas women involved in a knife fight were arrested Wednesday night, authorities said.

Kissie Palmer, 38, was arrested on an aggravated assault charge, and 35-year-old Melissa Briscoe faces two counts of battery.

Fayetteville officers were called about 7:50 p.m. to a parking lot near 870 S. Curtis Ave.

Briscoe said Palmer threatened her and her teenage son with a knife, according to their preliminary arrest reports. In response, Briscoe then got a knife and attacked Palmer, police said.

She injured a different neighbor in the neck and cut Palmer on her arms and rib cage, the reports state.

Both of the injured were treated at a nearby hospital, Fayetteville Sgt. Anthony Murphy said, adding that Palmer was arrested after her release.

Records show Briscoe remained at the Washington County jail roster Thursday morning. No bail had been set.
