Arkansas TV, times announced

FAYETTEVILLE -- The Indiana men's basketball team's first visit to the University of Arkansas will tip off at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18, and will be televised by ESPN, according to the times and network assignments for the Razorbacks.

Arkansas' opener Nov. 9 against Texas at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, will be televised on ESPN. A tipoff time hasn't been announced.

The Razorbacks will have at least 17 games on the SEC Network -- including Dec. 19 against Georgia Tech -- and none on CBS.

Razorbacks fall in SEC opener

Hailey Dirrigl had 7 kills, and Kelly O'Brien and Elease Crumpton had 5 kills and 5 blocks each, but it wasn't enough as Texas A&M beat Arkansas 25-23, 25-23, 25-23 in the SEC opener for both schools Wednesday in College Station, Texas.

After dropping the first two sets despite late leads in each, Arkansas (6-5, 0-1 SEC) fell behind 10-2 in the third set. The Aggies (8-5, 1-0) led 22-14 before the Razorbacks put together a late rally, winning eight of the next nine points to pull within one on a kill by Dirrigl, but the Aggies prevailed.

GOLF

Kim third as Arkansas finishes sixth

Senior Dylan Kim shot three rounds under par to finish in third place individually while leading the Arkansas women's team to a sixth-place finish at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate on Wednesday in Eden Prairie, Minn.

Kim shot a 2-under 70 on Wednesday to finish at 11-under 205 for the tournament. She had three birdies on the back nine and went 7 under on the back nine during the tournament.

The Razorbacks shot a 285 total as a team Wednesday to finish at 12-under 852. Alabama won the event at 28-under 836, followed by UCLA (838), Southen Cal (843), Texas (847) and Duke (850).

Jacobs honored by GAC

A day after winning his first collegiate tournament, Arkansas Tech University freshman Francois Jacobs was named the Great American Conference Golfer of the Week.

Jacobs shot a 12-under 201, the lowest 54-hole total in school history and tied for second lowest in conference history, to win the Northeastern State Classic by three strokes over Lindenwood's Yente Van Doren. He helped lead the Wonder Boys to a tie for second place in the team standings.

Martin earns conference honor

University of Arkansas at Fort Smith freshman Emily Martin was named the Heartland Conference Women's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday.

The honor came one day after Martin earned medalist honors and helped the Lady Lions win the team title at the Angelo State Concho River Classic in San Angelo, Texas. Martin earned medalist honors after beating Kiana Oshiro of Western Texas Community College on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff. UAFS shot 38-over 614 to win the team title, edging Midwestern State by five shots.

MEN'S SOCCER

UCA to join Sun Belt

The University of Central Arkansas will join the Sun Belt Conference as an associate member in men's soccer beginning with the 2019-20 academic year.

UCA will become the Sun Belt's sixth member in men's soccer, joining Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Georgia State and associate member Howard.

The Bears currently play in the Missouri Valley Conference, where they have one conference tournament title and one NCAA championship appearance, both coming in 2017.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

Hendrix blanked by Delta State

After recording consecutive home shutouts for the first time since the 2015 season, Hendrix College lost to Delta State 4-0 on Wednesday in Cleveland, Miss.

Erin Longsden accounted for three of Delta State's four goals, scoring in the 12th, 25th and 59th minutes. Diana Okechukwu also scored in the 53rd minute for Delta State (3-2-1).

Hendrix (4-3) managed 9 shots -- 5 coming in the first half -- and 6 shots on goal. Forwards Hagan Griffith and Evie Cannon led the way for the Warriors with two shots each, all of which were on goal.

BASEBALL

OBU rounds out coaching staff

Ouachita Baptist University Coach Luke Howard has announced the hiring of Mark Hendricks as the Tigers' new pitching coach.

Hendricks, who is a 2017 graduate of King University in Bristol, Tenn., had 6 career victories, 5 complete games and 82 strikeouts in 115⅓ career innings with the Tornadoes.
