Man gets 30-year term for child porn

FORT SMITH -- A man was sentenced in federal court Thursday to 30 years in prison on charges he made and distributed a video of himself engaging in a sexually graphic act with a minor girl, according to the U.S. attorney's office.

A news release from U.S. Attorney Duane "Dak" Kees' office said Austin McMahill, 30, of Wideman in Izard County was sentenced on one count each of production of child pornography and possession of child pornography. He pleaded guilty to the charges in April.

Western Arkansas Chief U.S. District Judge P.K. Holmes III ordered the sentence to be served without the possibility of parole.

According to court records, the Arkansas State Police received a report in September 2017 that McMahill made and distributed on Facebook the video of him and the minor girl.

Investigators obtained a warrant to search McMahill's phone and found numerous videos and photographs of McMahill and the minor girl engaged in sexual acts, some when she was 15 years old, the release said.

Investigators also located about 70 images depicting other children between 5 and 10 years old engaging in sex acts, the release said.
