Sheriff's office identifies man found dead in yard of Arkansas home

Authorities have identified the body found in an Arkansas yard on Monday as a 20-year-old man.

According to the Johnson County sheriff's office, Noah Hampton of Newton County was found about 7:30 a.m. in the yard of a Knoxville residence at the corner of Ash Street and U.S. 64.

An investigation into his death continues, according to a Thursday news release. Authorities previously said foul play is suspected.

Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Monday morning in west-central Arkansas.

The body of the man, who has not been identified, was found about 7:30 a.m. in the yard of a Knoxville residence at the corner of Ash Street and U.S. 64, according to a news release from the Johnson County sheriff’s office said.

Foul play is suspected, the release states. Authorities did not include any details about the cause of death or whether there were any suspects. Sheriff Larry Jones said the man did not live in the home he was found near, adding that a passer-by reported the body.

The death is being investigated by the sheriff’s office and the Arkansas State Police, according to the release. The body will be sent to the state Crime Lab, Jones said.

Knoxville is 10 miles southeast of Clarksville.
