MELBOURNE -- Sky Davidson rushed for three touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass to lead the Clinton Yellowjackets (5-0, 2-0 2-3A) over the Melbourne Bearkatz (3-2, 1-1).
Davidson (15-128 rushing, 2-25 receiving) scored twice on 9-yard runs and once from 16 yards. His touchdown reception from Weston Amos was on a 26-yard play.
Clinton outrushed Melbourne 293-60, but the Yellowjackets were outgained 413-393 by Melbourne thanks to quarterback Gabe Lawrence (16-24 passing, 353 yards, 3 touchdowns).
Lawrence threw scoring passes of 57 yards to Hunter Jennings, 10 yards to Alex Bray and 77 yards to Noah McSpadden (1-75 receiving, 14-79 rushing). McSpadden scored Melbourne's other touchdown on a 1-yard run.
