Kristen Rebekah Loftis Michael Wayne Coleman Jr.

Alda's Magnolia Hill was the setting at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, for the wedding of Kristen Rebekah Loftis and Michael Wayne Coleman Jr. Officiating was the Rev. Ed Simpson of Calvary Baptist Church

Nancy and Milt Loftis of Little Rock are the parents of the bride. Her grandparents are the late Helen and John Loftis of Little Rock and the late Bonnie and Willis Maxwell of Paragould.

Parents of the groom are Tina and Chris Evans of Draper, Utah, and Danie and Michael Coleman of Lebanon, Tenn. He is the grandson of Dyan and Hugh Brown of Lehi, Utah, and Joyce and Steve Lubin and Linda and Tommy Coleman, all of Memphis.

The outdoor ceremony took place in front of a pond. Shepherd hooks held arrangements of roses, tulips ranunculus, succulents and dusty miller. Music was by harpist Lily Ices.

The bride and her father arrived in a horse-drawn carriage. The bride wore a sleeveless ivory lace mermaid-style gown with a chapel train. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white garden roses, silver brunia, white tulips and small succulents.

Serving as the bride's honor attendants were Kailey Chua of Houston and Samantha Shouse of Fayetteville, N.C. Bridesmaids were Katie Palmer of El Paso, Texas; Thuy Franklin of Arlington, Tenn.; Shelby Sokol of Memphis; Rebekah Taylor of Prattsville; and Ashley Coleman of Salt Lake City, sister of the groom. They wore platinum beaded gowns of blush chiffon and carried a smaller version of the bride's bouquet.

Best man was Christopher Franklin of Arlington. Groomsmen were Matthew Coleman of Mount Juliet, Tenn., brother of the groom; Allen Taylor of Prattsville; Andrew Johnson of Bartlett, Tenn.; William Ratcliff of Houston; Dalton Grubbs of Cordova, Tenn.; and Mitchell Lott of Lakeland, Tenn. Guests were seated by Hunter Dorsey of Sheridan, cousin of the bride; Omar Ramirez of Austin, Texas; Colton Evans of Draper, step-brother of the groom; and Austin Walker of Santa Rosa, Calif.

There was a reception after the ceremony -- also at Alda's Magnolia Hill -- decorated with family mementos and photos.

The bride has a bachelor's degree in family and consumer sciences from Baylor University and a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Memphis. She is a registered nurse in the emergency departments at CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs and Methodist South in Memphis.

The groom received national certifications for Advanced EMT at Utah Valley University and is a Memphis Fire Department firefighter and advanced emergency medical technician.

The couple will make their home in Memphis after a wedding trip to Nassau, Bahamas.
