Winning Westeros author to discuss Game of Thrones

Cavanaugh, U.S. Army strategist, fellow, Modern War Institute at West Point, and co-editor of Winning Westeros: How Game of Thrones Explains Modern Military Conflict, discusses the book and how the TV show Game of Thrones and George R.R. Architecture lecture

Eureka Gilkey, executive director of Project Row Houses in Houston will give a talk titled "Collective Creative Actions: Project Row Houses at 25," 6 p.m. Tuesday in the lower-level lecture hall at the Arkansas Arts Center in MacArthur Park, 501 E. Ninth St., Little Rock. It's part of the Architecture and Design Network's 2018-19 June Freeman lecture series. A 5:30 p.m. reception precedes the lecture.

Project Row Houses is a Houston nonprofit "dedicated to empowering people and enriching the Third Ward community through engagement, art and direct action," according to a news release. Screenwriter at UCA

Screenwriter-director Kevin Willmott, who with director Spike Lee and two others won an Academy Award for the screenplay for BlacKkKlansman, will host a screening of the film, 7 p.m. Monday in the ballroom of McCastlain Hall at the University of Central Arkansas, 201 Donaghey Ave., Conway. A question-and-answer session will follow. Admission is free.

As part of a one-day residency at UCA, Wilmott, a faculty member at the University of Kansas, will conduct undergraduate and graduate workshops and a screenwriting master class and take part in an open-to-the-public symposium, titled "African-American Cinema and Spike Lee," 1:30-2:45 p.m. Monday in Room 103, Stanley Russ Hall, at UCA. Wardrobe workshop

South Main Creative, 1600 S. Main St., Little Rock, offers a Sustainable Wardrobe Workshop, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. April 14, teaching "basic, easily adaptable skills to create a sustainable wardrobe without having to purchase any additional clothing," according to a news release.

Attendees should supply three "well-loved, favorite garments in need of a little sprucing" made from natural fibers such as linen, cotton, rayon and silk. Instructor Aaron Sanders Head will explore using plant-based dyes and mending and reinforcement techniques. Cost is $100, plus a $25 materials fee. 'Cuckoo' auditions

Fort Smith Little Theatre, 401 N. Sixth St., Fort Smith, will hold auditions for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Dale Wasserman, based on the Ken Kesey novel, 7 p.m. April 29 with callbacks April 30.
