ROCKING OUT FOR A CAUSE

Party band helps put the 'fun' in Cancer Institute fundraiser

Doctor Zarr's Amazing Funk Monster, a band from Memphis, entertained the crowd at Rockstar Lounge with music spanning from the 1970s to now. The event at Cajun's Wharf was a fundraiser for the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

A reception on the restaurant's deck overlooking the Arkansas River began the evening followed by a buffet dinner and music and dancing. Many of the guests, in the spirit of the evening, dressed in costumes from their favorite musical decade.

This was the 10th year for the event, hosted by the Envoys. The Envoys are advocates for the Cancer Institute by promoting its physicians, scientists and programs. Money raised from Rockstar Lounge goes toward the Seeds of Science Grants Program.

Win and Natalie Rockefeller were the event's presenting sponsors.
