Emperor's 'wardrobe'

The Arkansas Arts Center Children's Theatre on Tour will stage The Emperor's New Clothes (adapted and directed by Keith Smith), 10 a.m. and noon today and Friday at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 S. Garden market

The Bernice Garden, 1401 Main St., Little Rock, will host the year's first Vintage and Craft Market, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday (the second will be June 22). The open-air event showcases vintage collectors' items and artisan crafts, including restored furniture and home decor, antique collectibles, jewelry, children's clothes and accessories; musicians and a food truck will be on hand. Williams film music

The Conway Symphony Orchestra performs music from film scores by John Williams, 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Reynolds Performance Hall, University of Central Arkansas, 201 Donaghey Ave., Conway. Israel Getzov conducts. Introducing the music will be Houston Davis of UCA; Jamie Gates of the Conway Chamber of Commerce; Amanda Horton representing Reynolds Performance Hall; Kim Lane of the Conductor; Bill Tsutsui, president of Hendrix College; and Emily Yates of Coldwell Banker. A costume contest, with cash prizes, will take place at intermission — sign up in the lobby before the concert begins. Underwriting comes from First Security Bank. 'Cast My Kid'

Opera in the Rock is holding a "Cast My Kid" contest seeking a local child for its production of Giacamo Puccini's opera Madama Butterfly. Needed: a petite youngster, boy or girl, age 5 or 6, of any ethnicity, to play the silent role of "Trouble," Cio-Cio San's 3-year-old son.

The child must be able to follow instructions and do simple stage positioning while maintaining composure, and must be able to attend May 10-15 rehearsals and the May 17 and 19 performances at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre, 601 Main St., Little Rock. (A parent or guardian must be present at all rehearsals and performance times.) Email a photo, brief biography and contact info to ksain@oitr.org with subject line: "CAST MY KID." Deadline is Tuesday; the opera company will announce which child they've selected April 26.
