Purdy, Griffin shows at South on Main sold-out; McCollum at Rev Room

Singer-songwriter Joe Purdy with the Honey Dewdrops, plus opening act Smokey & the Mirror, performs at 8 p.m. today at South on Main. The show is sold-out (any turn-back tickets are $25-$34).

Purdy, who grew up in the Fayetteville area, has released 14 albums, beginning with a self-titled debut in 2001, releasing American Folk, also the title of a movie in which he starred, in 2018.

Smokey & The Mirror are husband/wife duo Bryan and Bernice Hembree, who have toured during the past decade. The Honey Dewdrops are Laura Wortman and Kagey Parrish.

Patty Griffin performs at 8 p.m. Friday. The show is sold-out (any turn-back tickets are $35-$65).

Griffin, a native of Old Town, Maine, released her debut album, Living With Ghosts, in 1996, and has since released nine CDs, the most recent of which, Patty Griffin, came out March 8. Her previous area appearance was in 2010 at Robinson Center Performance Hall as part of Robert Plant's "Band of Joy" tour.

And Making a Scene, an indie blues magazine, named Markey Blue one of its "Top Ten Acts to Catch Live" in 2017.
