For the 31st year, Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church will present the Community Easter Sunrise Service, 7 a.m. Sunday at First Security Amphitheater, 400 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock. The ecumenical service includes participation by local choirs, Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott and other community leaders. A special offering will be taken for Central Arkansas Freedom School. 2 CULTURE

Artisans and musicians are preparing for an annual salute to the old ways at the Arkansas Folk Festival, Friday-Saturday in downtown Mountain View. The festival includes the Artisans Market on the Square, full of arts and crafts of all sorts. Music groups and soloists will perform on the courthouse stage and in impromptu jam sessions around the square. The Ozark Folk Center State Park's Craft Village will offer free admission, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. both days. Most events are free. The Folk Center auditorium hosts Joe Purdy, The Honey Dewdrops and Smokey & The Mirror at 7 p.m. Friday and Love Holler at 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $12, $7 for ages 6-12. Cherokee Village hosts a sweet celebration of a beloved pastry with the inaugural Arkansas Pie Festival, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at Cherokee Village Town Center, 10 Santee Drive, Cherokee Village. The crust-full party includes pie tastings, a Kat Robinson book signing, pie-eating and -throwing contests, music and an autograph session with Miss Arkansas.
