A 21-year-old Jonesboro man is accused of sexually assaulting a woman over the weekend, authorities said.

Officers were dispatched just before 2 a.m. on Sunday to a report of a sexual assault, according to a report by the Jonesboro Police Department. An 18-year-old woman told authorities Vuong Manh Hung Nguyen gave her a ride, then pulled over and sexually assaulted her.

Nguyen was arrested several hours later and booked into Craighead County jail on a rape charge, according to an online jail roster. He was released on Tuesday, the roster states.

The county prosecuting attorney's office said on Wednesday it had not received any reports on the arrest from police.

I used to think anyone “accused” of rape was automatically 99.99% guilty because with so many rapes unreported, to have the embarrassing will to actually go though the hell of filing a report, you’ve got to be telling the truth. But with Age comes Wisdom. I have since seen many cases of “revenge” or other ulterior motives by sociopaths that will recklessly Accuse anyone. So I now think it’s horrific to publish the Name and Photograph of anyone short of Conviction UNLESS you’re going to also post the Name and Photograph of the Accuser so the #metoo movement can afford the opportunity of a dozen others to say “she accused me of rape too and I’ve never seen the woman in my life”.
