1:43 P.M. UPDATE:

A North Little Rock man was shot and killed early Friday morning during a disturbance in a neighborhood just east of UALR, a police spokesman said.

Little Rock police responding to a ShotSpotter activation at 2:32 a.m. Friday found Charles Brent Gant, 33, who had been shot, Little Rock police spokesman Eric Barnes said. Gant died at the scene and the Pulaski County coroner’s office transported his body to the state Crime Lab.

Jessica Henson, 29, told police she was Gant’s girlfriend and said she had been in an argument with Gant. She was arrested on a charge of second-degree murder, Barnes said.

The police report associated with the death said Gant was shot once with a handgun.

Henson was in the Pulaski County jail without bond as of Friday afternoon.
