Little girls in satin, velvet and sparkly holiday dresses were greeted by beauty queens and given their own tiaras as they were announced along with their fathers at the annual Sugarplum Ball. Part of the CARTI Festival of Trees, the fairy-tale evening was held in the Wally Allen Ballroom at the Statehouse Convention Center on Nov. 14.

While at the ball, the girls could write letters to Santa, visit with ballerinas and have their photos made. Tables were decorated with giant lollipops and party favors and guests dined on chicken fingers and mac and cheese then sugar cookies and cupcakes for dessert.

Chairwomen of the sold-out event were Kayla Hilliard and Macey Wadley.
