MUSIC SCENE: David Starr and his guitars back in Little Rock to play Hibernia Irish Tavern

David Starr will perform for the Little Rock Folk Club at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Hibernia Irish Tavern in Little Rock. Admission is $15; $10 for military; $8 for students with ID; and free for accompanied children 12 and under.

Starr, who now lives in Cedaredge, Colo., formerly lived in Little Rock and operated Starr's Guitars, one of the earliest performance venues in the River Market District in the late 1990s. He has released nine albums.

TODAY

Catherine Russell will perform at 8 p.m. today at South on Main in Little Rock. Tickets, if any remain, are $35 for the general admission area.

Russell is a jazz singer best known for her 2016 album, Harlem on My Mind. She toured as a backing vocalist with Steely Dan and David Bowie before launching her solo career in 2006. Her version of a 1920s song, "Crazy Blues," was used in the HBO series Boardwalk Empire and a soundtrack album that included the song won a Grammy Award in 2012. This year, Russell is up for a best jazz vocal album Grammy for Alone Together.

Earlier this year, she sang "Make Me a Pallet on the Floor" and played a character in Bolden!, a film about legendary ragtime cornet player Buddy Bolden of New Orleans.

FRIDAY

Tiko Brooks' "allstar + feature birthday celebration" will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Stickyz Rock 'n' Roll Chicken Shack in Little Rock. Admission is $10.

• Bluesboy Jag, with Mudhead, will perform at 8 p.m. Friday at Bar Louie in Little Rock. Admission is free.

• Hamans Wrath and Sweet Calamity will perform at 8 p.m. Friday at Vino's in Little Rock. Admission is $5.

• The City Boyz will perform at 8:30 p.m. Friday at Kings Live Music in Conway. Admission is $5.

• Holiday Hangout: Night One, featuring The Legendary Shack Shakers, Patrick Sweany, Slobberbone, Samantha Crain, Jon Dee Graham, Lee Bains & The Glory Fires, Adam Faucett, John Paul Keith, Bonnie Whitmore, Clownvis Presley, Kaylyn Fay, Matt Woods, Todd May, Vandoliers, Jeremy Pinnell, The Baptist General, Shane Sweeney, Isaac Hoskins, John Calvin Abney and Brent Best, will be held at 9 p.m. Friday at White Water Tavern in Little Rock. Admission is $150 for the three-day festival; there will be a limited number of $25 tickets for Friday and Saturday nights.

• Mike Mayberry and The Slow Hands will perform at 9 p.m. Friday at The Big Chill in Hot Springs. Admission is $5.

• Clusterpluck will perform at 10 p.m. today at Four Quarter Bar in North Little Rock. Admission is $7.

SATURDAY

Marty Stuart, along with opening act Buck Trent, will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday at The Center for Humanities and Arts in North Little Rock. Tickets are $75 or $45 reserved or $20 or $10 for standing room.

Stuart and his band, The Fabulous Superlatives, will mark the 20th anniversary of his album, The Pilgrim.

• Holiday Hangout: Night Two (which will feature the same lineup as Friday) will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at White Water Tavern in Little Rock. Admission is $150 for the three-day festival; there will also be a limited number of $25 tickets for Saturday night.

• Casey Sparks will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday as part of "Riffs at Stifft" at Stones Throw Stifft Station Taproom in Little Rock. Admission is free.

• Black Joe Lewis, along with opening act Liz Brasher, will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday at the Rev Room in Little Rock. Tickets are $16 in advance, $20 the day of the show.

Lewis, who is based in Austin, Texas, got his start working in a pawn shop where he picked up a guitar and soon became part of the Austin blues, soul and funk scene.

• Nerd Eye Blind will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday at Four Quarter Bar in North Little Rock. Admission is $10.

• Jamie Jones & Point Removed will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday at Kings Live Music in Conway. Admission is $5.

• The Stardust Big Band will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa's Crystal Ballroom in Hot Springs. Admission is $10; free for K-12 students. Saxophonist Gary Meggs will be featured.

• Holiday Hangout: Night Three (which will feature the same lineup as Friday and Saturday) will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday at White Water Tavern in Little Rock. Admission is $150 for the three-day festival; there will be some $10 tickets for just Sunday.
