007, lucky number: Fundraiser adopts theme of famous films starring a suave MI6 agent

Guests stepped into a James Bond movie Dec. 14 as they entered a pre-dinner reception at Miracle Ball on the grounds of Arkansas Children's Hospital. The theme for this year's gala was Casino Royale: A High Stakes Evening, and the scene was set with rich red draped fabric on the ceiling and walls, sparkling crystal chandeliers, roulette tables and a convertible Jaguar sports car centering the tent.

The car was the prize in a dramatic raffle during the reception with five finalists drawn for a chance to try to start the car with one of five keys. Trisha Montague had the winning key.

For dinner, guests moved to the Children's Hall, also lighted with multiple crystal chandeliers and warm up-lighting on walls draped in white fabric. Tables covered in gold with red and gold toppers held a mix of tall and short red and white arrangements of hydrangeas, roses, snapdragons and bells of Ireland.

For the main course, guests dined on a "Bond-inspired" beef tenderloin and steamed lobster tails with drawn butter served on creamed spinach with potatoes gruyere au gratin and asparagus. Dessert was a traditional Eton mess with mixed raspberry and strawberry layered trifle with creme anglaise and whipped cream. The meal was prepared by Capers.

A program during dinner included a live auction. Savvy Shields Wolfe and Thomas C. Blackmon Jr. were the emcees. Entertainment was by Mike & The Martinis.

Event chairmen were the Middleton Family with Larry Middleton, Mark Middleton and Sandy Middleton Marshall.
