Bentonville High 4, Fort Smith Southside 2

Thomas Borenholtz had a goal in both halves and led Bentonville to a season-opening win at Fort Smith.

Borenholtz, Wyeth McKean and Johnny Merlos each scored in the first half to give the Tigers (1-0) a 3-1 cushion.

Bentonville returns to action in the Bentonville Spring Classic, where the Tigers will take on Tulsa Bishop Kelley at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Wolverine Stadium in Centerton.

Rogers High 2, Cabot 0

The Mounties jumped to a 2-0 halftime lead and made it stand up for the nonconference win.

Brayan Flores and Nelson Rivas each had goals for Rogers (2-0), while Trey Keith and Anthony Garcia had assists. Garcia also came up with the shutout in goal.

Rogers Heritage 4, North Little Rock 2

David Tudo had two goals and an assist to lead the War Eagles to the nonconference win.

Miguel Reyes and Jonathan Morales also had goals for Heritage, which was tied 1-1 at halftime. Tony Hurtado and Martin Duran added assists.

Tuesday's Results

Bentonville 4, Fort Smith Southside 0

Angelina Diaz scored a goal in each half as Bentonville opened its season with a shutout victory in Fort Smith.

Tyler Ann Reash scored a goal in the first half to give the Lady Tigers (1-0) a 2-0 halftime cushion, then Brianna Willis added a goal in the second half.

Bentonville will play again Friday in the Bentonville Spring Classic as the Lady Tigers take on Edmond (Okla.) North in a 5 p.m. match at the Tiger Athletic Complex.

Bentonville West 4, Siloam Springs 0

Freshman Cierra Flynn had two goals as West shut out Siloam Springs during the Lady Wolverines' season opener in Centerton.

Fellow freshmen Sydney Williams and Tyler Outhouse each added a goal for West (1-0), while Tera Garribger had two assists. Addison Dawson recorded eight saves on goal, while Jenny Meeker added five.

The Lady Wolverines return to action Friday during the Bentonville Spring Classic and will play Edmond Okla.) Santa Fe at 3:30 p.m. at the Tiger Athletic Complex.

Monday's Results

Rogers High 4, Cabot 2

Sophomore Jourdan Badely scored two goals, while Grace Stahr added a goal and an assist as the defending Class 7A state champion Lady Mounties kicked off the season with a win Tuesday evening.

Badely scored less than two minutes into the match, and Stahr, a freshman, followed to give Rogers a 2-0 halftime lead. After Cabot pulled within 2-1, Ellie Verser added a goal, and Badely scored again to give the Lady Mounties a 4-1 lead.

Mac Brace added four saves for Rogers, while Haley Arrick also had an assist.

Springdale Har-Ber 7, Russellville 5

The Wildcats used a four-run fourth inning and held off Russellville late for a nonconference win Tuesday.

Hunter Wood was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Har-Ber (2-0). Sam Stephenson also doubled and Todd Girdner drove in two runs.

Landon McAllister went four innings to earn the win, striking out six, allowing two hits with two walks. Charlie Acuff and Kirby Jenkins also saw mound time for Har-Ber with Jenkins getting the save.

Eli Thomas had two doubles and two RBIs for Russellville.

Springdale High 11, Siloam Springs 3

The Bulldogs took the early lead and cruised to a season-opening win Tuesday.

Will Mueller had two hits for Springdale, and Christopher Harvey drove in three runs to pace the Bulldogs.

Fayetteville 8, Van Buren 0

Hank Gibbs allowed just three hits as the Bulldogs blanked Van Buren on Tuesday.

Gibbs went five innings and struck out four to earn the win. Matthew Magre earned the save.

Fayetteville banged nine hits with Joshua Langham, Beau Stuckey, Harrison Wales and Magre belting doubles. Langham and Josh Hart each drove in two runs.

Shiloh Christian 13, Booneville 3

The Saints scored all the runs they needed with a four-run first inning and run-ruled Booneville.

Drew Dudley was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs for Shiloh Christian. Cooper Hutchinson was 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs. Kellen Pate and Ben Baker each belted doubles.

Marcus Brown scattered three hits over three innings to earn the win.

For Booneville, Michael Hesson was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs.

Prep Softball

Farmington 16, Springdale Har-Ber 2

The Lady Cardinals plated 11 runs in the first inning and pounded Har-Ber in the season-opener.

Grace Boatwright was 4-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs for Farmington. Kally Stout, Paige Anderson and Remington Adams all doubled. Stout, Alyssa Reed and Madison Parrish each drove in two runs.

Emily Bartlett had an RBI double for Har-Ber.
